A delegation from the Syrian Arab Red Crescent participated in the Red Cross Red Crescent Meetings “Power of Humanity” held in Antalya, Turkey on 5-11/11/2017. Headed by Dr. Ziad Msallati, Senior Advisor for External Affairs, the delegation attended the MENA Zone meetings and held bilateral meetings with the participated national societies in order to enhance cooperation. In addition, the delegation presented an overview of SARC services provided in the field of mental health and psychosocial support. They also came to an agreement with the French Red Cross on a return to collaboration between SARC and FRC soon. In the margins of the meetings, an exhibition took place to reflect humanitarian work carried out by the national societies where SARC managed to show its service and activities in pictures and short films.
During the statutory meetings, Mr. Francesco Rocca was elected president of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. SARC congratulates Mr. Rocca and wishes him every success in his new role.
