In emergency situations, 90% of the victims are saved thanks to first aid, so the Syrian Arab Red Crescent in Daraa implemented two training workshops on the principles of first aid in the presence of all ECBHFA volunteers, so that they obtain these principles and provide them to the local community to contribute in saving many lives. Knowing that the two workshops are supported by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
What did the volunteers learn?
During the two-days training workshops, 38 volunteers from the community health and first aid team received practical information and experiences on the following topics:
• Definition and purpose of the first aid program.
• How to respond to cases and methods of examining the injured.
• Dealing with loss consciousness cases.
•Respiratory injuries and airway obstruction.
• Circulatory system injuries and hemorrhages of all kinds, and how to measure pressure.
• Burns and wounds.
• Environmental injuries.
• Fractions.
