60 families receive their dues from the poultry grant in Daraa countryside

In an effort to alleviate the suffering of the most vulnerable groups in the towns of Khirbet Ghazaleh and al-Katibah in Daraa countryside, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent distributes the poultry grant to 60 returning families with the support of UNHCR, and with the implementation of the livelihood program of the humanitarian support project in the province.

Who are the categories covered by the grant?

Out of their duty to meet the needs of the most vulnerable families, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent volunteers selected the beneficiaries of the poultry project based on the following criteria:
• Female-headed families (widows, divorced women).
• Families that have a high dependency ratio (people with special needs).
• Families not included in a similar program.
•A suitable place with sufficient space for raising poultry.
• A good experience in raising poultry.

What Does the grant includ?

After selecting the beneficiary families based on their conformity to the required criteria, each beneficiary received the following: (30 laying hens, 290 kg of crushed feed, various materials to fully prepare the chicken coop). the grant also includes providing veterinary follow-up that lasts 45 days, To provide medical advice and consultations necessary to reach a good level of production, and to achieve the desired feasibility of the poultry project in achieving families’ self-sufficiency in chicken products.
