SARC Hama still responds to the families displaced from Hama countryside.

Disaster Management Teams in SARC- Hama branch responded to the families displaced from the northern and north-western countryside of Hama (Maardes, Majdal, Qumhanih, Mhardah, khattab, Al-Sheeha, Al-Sheer and marzaf). SARC Hama had prepared a temporary shelter centers for these families, and organized all needed distributions process of various relief aid items like: food parcels, canned food, blankets, kitchen sets, hygiene kits, mattresses, blankets and solar power lights. Operational Update – Hama Branch February 2015


The Syrian Arab Red Crescent – Hama branch carried out various activities and services on February 2015. However, the most prominant services were entering the city of Kirnaz and providing water supply to operate the waterwheel of Maardes area. Relief The Registration team registered full data for 454 affected and displaced people, while the assessment team processed  needs’ evaluations of 450  affected and displaced families both in sheltering centers and houses. The distribution team transported 57707 food parcels with beneficiaries of 247234 persons, 6617 parcels of food-conserved cans that benefited 34462 and 13783 flour bag that benefited 52176 persons. SARC’s Hama branch response in al-Mabouja


Due to the Excessive displacement movement from from al-Mabouja village to Salamiyeh city, SARC’s, Hama branch responded urgently. SARC’s teams were the first to help Al-MAbouja IDPs,  and provided them with the first aid and relief services. Um Hasan, a displaced person and a mother to four children, described their misery situation “we escaped with nothing  but our wretched clothes. We are in dire need for mattresses, blankets, and food.” Said Um Hasan. Operational Update – Hama Branch January 2015


SARC’s-Hama branch launched various  activities  throughout January 2015. However, the most prominent services were the distribution of 56693 food parcels to displaced and affected families, and the installation of two 45000-litere Oxfam tanks in Maardes. Relief The Registration team registered full data for 340 affected and displaced people, while the assessment team continued evaluating the needs of the sheltering centers and houses of the affected and displaced families. They evaluation covered 300 families. Upgrading Telecommunications System in SARC, Hama Branch


The Syrian Arab Red Crescnet Telecom team with a support by the ICRC has finished working on upgrading SARC’s, Hama branch, Telecommunications system. A 15-meter aerial tower installed and three VHF stations were added to the branch’s vehicles. Eng. Abdullah Al-Bunni, Telecommunications coordinator in Damascus headquarter pointed out that the aerial tower was executed with the expertise of the Telecommunications team in the SARC HQ with the help of the volunteers in Hama branch.
