يانا تنسج حياتها بالأمل

Yana picks strings of hope to weave her future life

November 27, 2022
in SARC Stories, Tartous
1 min read
Yana (25 y) is trying to create new shapes of the crochet hand-made pieces she made for her clients, who are fond of her works without knowing her story!

Yana has suffered from serious muscular dystrophy since she was two years old which had affected her physical motions and activities, but being encouraged by her mother, and getting enrolled in some vocational training, the girl showed creativity in crocheted netting, which took over her passion and turned into a real profession that changed her life.

To help the young girl pursue her passion, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent provided her with a wheelchair, which can facilitate her motion and allow her to do daily activities. She was also supported with periodic physiotherapy sessions that help ease the motions of her knuckles and fingers.

Yana is one of 238 persons who received physiotherapy services from the #SyrianArabRedCrescent in #Tartous in 2022. These services are provided by specialists and qualified volunteers. The services, supported by the IFRC, included also providing mobility aid supplies (wheelchair, air mattresses, walkers, portable toilets), in addition to nursing services.
