Winter clothes for Deir Al Ashayer families

Winter clothes for families in Deir Al Ashayer

February 19, 2018
in Rural Damascus
1 min read

Six children under 12 years are living in a house shaken by the strong wind. They seem weak but satisfied enough as their hearts have no fears about the coming days. This is how Um Mazzen’s family looks like.

The elder child suffers respiratory infection which keeps him awake at night and the sick father can’t pay for medicines or outgoings. However, Um Mazzen is still optimistic “My kids are my fortune” she said. She told us how they escaped from Al Raqqa and walked for seven days to reach a safe area.

Today, the family enjoys peace in Deir Al Ashayer town with many other families who were also displaced from Raqqa and Deir Ezzour. They receive humanitarian aids from SARC, where the relief team supports them with 500 food parcels, 100 hygiene kits, 100 winter jackets, 50 winter clothes kits provided by WFP and UNHCR .
