As an independent individual belonging to a family and community, the child has rights and duties that put consistently with his/her age and guaranteed by the Child Rights Act. And it’s the Syrian Arab Red Crescent volunteers’ role to disseminate these rights among the children groups.
Awareness messages are delivered to activate the children’s role in the community
Over two days, with the participation of 134 children (6 to 16 years old), SARC’s volunteers, in cooperation with the Public Library in Latakia, conducted awareness-raising workshops on children’s rights.
Various activities were held for different ages
The workshops included interactive games, drawing, stories, and discussions that aimed at raise children’s awareness of their rights and duties.
What kind of impact the activities have?
In addition to identifying their rights, children have acquired a series of information about the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, the teams and services, the seven fundamental principles, where they shared their views on the subject of volunteering and showed a great desire to be effective initiators and volunteers in their community
