As part of their continuous response to meet the needs of the affected returning families in the countryside of Daraa; the Syrian Arab Red Crescent has completed the process of distributing comprehensive sheltering materials to the families of Ain Zakar area and its affiliated communities, with the aim of helping them to stabilize and relieve some of the financial burdens necessary to secure their basic requirements.
Simple materials that give them hope to continue
Despite the fact that they are simple materials, in the eyes of the families that received them, they give them great hope to continue and stand on their feet again. The distribution that the volunteers accomplished within two days was able to cover 959 returning and affected families in Ain Zakar area and its affiliated communities (Shebreq, Saison, Abu Haritin, Sheikh Hussein, Al-Luiheq), as the distributed rations included the following materials: (3 mattresses, 5 blankets, plastic sheet, 3 mats, gallon, rechargeable light, winter jacket and women’s jacket, family wear basket, kitchen basket), these items are supported by UNHCR.
4,404 families benefited from an earlier response
During the month of September, SARC implemented a similar response, as shelter kits were provided for returnees in three areas of the governorate countryside, with the support of the UNHCR, according to the following: (3308 rations for Khirbet Ghazaleh families, 900 rations for Busra al-Sham families, 196 rations for Nahtah families), In addition to distributing food parcels.
