Explosive Land mines and War Remnants spread over 85 countries and pose a major threat to people’s lives particularly the children, who are attracted to its intended-colored shapes.

Q & A

What is the War Remnants?

What do you know about it?

Where do they exist and how it looks?

These kinds of questions were to start with by SARC volunteers in order to correct misconceptions about EWR.

Three Steps

In fairy tales, children learn ethics and morals leading to keep them safe against risks. Today, with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent volunteers, they are learning key messages to avoid the war remnants’ risks.

Don’t come close

Warning signs keep them at a safe distance from the war remnants.

Don’t touch

Activities are organized to teach children the shape and types of war remnants.

Inform the concerned authority

They learn what to do as soon as seeing a strange object and to call 108.

In the end, they received educational stories and brochures.

Special Activity

80 Children (6 – 12 y) in “Haout” village in Rural Swaida, showed the information they got from SARC volunteers and make wall pictures reflecting their deep understanding to the awareness key messages promoted by SARC, with the support of the ICRC.
