New volunteers learn the principles of international humanitarian law

With the participation of 45 volunteers from various departments in the Syrian Arab Red Crescent branch in Daraa, a 3-day introductory workshop that was carried out by the head of the branch and the Disaster Management Unit coordinator to provide the volunteers with basic information about international humanitarian law.

The objective of the session and its topics

The induction workshop, which supported by the Finnish Red Cross, aimed to provide the attendees with the rules and principles of the international humanitarian law, in addition to making them aware of the scope of application of its provisions and the groups protected accordingly, as the familiarity of volunteers and humanitarian workers with humanitarian international law is one of the priorities to carry out their field tasks in the best way.
