How to Keep Safe during Humanitarian Responses

How to Keep Safe during Humanitarian Responses

July 5, 2017

1 min read

Under the title “Keep on Safety during Humanitarian Responses” the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) launched an unprecedented workshop with participation of 28 trainees from SARC branches in Dara’a, Qunaitera, Idleb, Hama, Aleppo, Homs and Rural Damascus on 1-2/7/2017.

As awareness programs are on the top priorities of SARC, this workshop came to support these programs and to shed light on the risky war remnants which could be faced in hard to reach areas where SARC volunteers may carry out humanitarian responses. It is noteworthy that the attendants are trainers in first aid and disaster management fields who are qualified enough to promote the valuable information and raise awareness for volunteers.

The workshop agenda included topics on dangerous explosive items, mines, and other types of the dangerous war remnants. It shed light also to the volunteers’ role in raising public awareness among the communities.

At the end of the workshop an action plan was put out to clarify the steps to be followed by SARC and ICRC in order to guarantee the team’s safety.
