Job purpose
| The Branch Development & Strategic Planning Coordinator plays a pivotal role in strengthening SARC’s ability to serve communities across Syria by coordinating branch development initiatives, facilitating strategic planning processes, and supporting organizational performance monitoring.
The position works collaboratively within the NSD Unit, closely with headquarters departments, branches, and Movement partners to ensure alignment between SARC’s strategic priorities and branch-level implementation. This role requires strong coordination skills and the ability to translate organizational strategy into actionable, measurable branch-level plans, while promoting continuous learning, accountability, and institutional strengthening. |
Job duties and responsibilities
| The coordinator works as part of a collaborative NSD Unit team, receiving technical guidance from the NSD Unit Manager and working alongside other coordinators to ensure shared ownership of branch development and planning outcomes.
1. Branch Development · Coordinate the implementation of branch development initiatives in line with SARC Strategy and organizational priorities, working closely with branches to ensure their success. · Support branches in developing, updating, and executing branch development plans and improvement actions. · Follow up on branch assessments, recommendations, and capacity-strengthening initiatives. · Facilitate communication and collaboration between headquarters and branches on branch development matters. · Monitor progress of branch development activities and identify areas requiring additional support. · Support the promotion of good practices, peer learning, and knowledge sharing among branches. · Contribute to branch sustainability and institutional strengthening initiatives. 2. Strategic Planning and Operational Planning · Facilitate the development, review, and implementation of SARC strategic, operational, and departmental plans, under the guidance of the NSD Unit Manager. · Coordinate annual operational planning processes and provide technical support to departments and branches in their planning activities. · Organize and facilitate planning workshops, consultations, and coordination meetings. · Support alignment between organizational priorities, departmental plans, and branch-level implementation. · Assist in the development and refinement of planning tools, templates, and guidance materials. 3. Monitoring, Performance, and Reporting · Coordinate the monitoring of strategic objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs), and organizational performance measures. · Collect, consolidate, analyze, and present organizational performance data to support informed decision-making. · Support the development and maintenance of dashboards, tracking tools, and performance monitoring systems. · Prepare periodic reports, presentations, and analytical summaries for management and relevant stakeholders. · Identify trends, challenges, gaps, and opportunities to support evidence-based decision-making. 4. Organizational Development and Assessments · Participate in organizational assessments, reviews, self-assessments, and institutional strengthening initiatives. · Contribute to National Society Development (NSD) processes, accreditation initiatives, and organizational development projects. · Assist in developing action plans resulting from assessments, evaluations, and organizational reviews. 5. Capacity Building and Facilitation · Organize and facilitate workshops, orientation sessions, consultations, and learning events related to branch development and planning. · Provide technical support and guidance to branches and departments on planning and performance monitoring processes. · Promote a culture of planning, learning, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization. 6. Coordination and Partnership Support · Coordinate with headquarters departments, branches, and Movement partners on matters related to branch development and strategic planning. · Participate in relevant working groups, committees, and task forces as assigned. · Support the preparation of reports, presentations, concept notes, and briefing materials for internal and external stakeholders.
