A new project implemented by the Syrian Arab Red Crescent to support the families who are affected financially by the pandemic.
In light of the current economic conditions that the Syrians live in, the SARC implemented an integrated response project in Damascus and its countryside, in partnership with the AVSI organization, for the most affected residents by the pandemic
Project implementation mechanism:
From the start, the project aimed to protect the most vulnerable residents (people with chronic diseases – the elderly – breadwinner women – and people with special needs).
within the regions of (Dwel’a, Al-Kabbas, Tabbalah, Bab Touma, Bab Sharqi, Jaramana, and Kashkol).
As the number of beneficiaries since the beginning of September 2020, until this point has reached 1,230 families, after it went through several stages of implementation, the first of which was; Registration of the beneficiaries, then a home visit by the volunteers for random samples from the registered names to evaluate the individuals’ need, ending with the distribution of cash vouchers for each family according to the number of its members, where the share of a family of:
(1 to 3) members, was four vouchers.
(4 to 6) members, was seven vouchers.
(7 or more) members, was ten vouchers.
Note that the purchasing value of one voucher is 30,000 SP, and the holder is entitled to spend it as desired in the contracting stores and markets.
The dream that everyone lives happily is still a long way off, but perhaps we are getting closer, step by step, to achieve the dream by continuing our work.
