On 17/01/2017, a delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) accompanied by SARC Water and Sanitation team paid a field visit to some of the many water projects in Damascus city.
The delegation, which included Mr. Javier Cordoba WatHab Head of Sector and Mr. Laurent Bidel, WatHab Electro-mechanical referent, toured some sheltering centers (Deeb Al-Rifa’ai school in Al-Qadam area and Shdydi sheltering center in Dummar area). The delegation also saw the work at Al-Qadam pump station, the water purification station, the great water tank in Damascus and the boreholes project in Al-Rabweh area, which contributes to approximately 16% of the water provision in Damascus.
This visit is part of the mutual collaboration framework between SARC and ICRC.
