1 min read

With an aim to empower volunteers and improve their skills regarding psychosocial support, SARC – Aleppo psychosocial support committee held a series of training courses on community based psychosocial support’s principles for volunteers of SARC – Aleppo Counseling Centers.
The first course, which went on 5 days from November 15th to November 19th, targeted 20 volunteers and discussed a range of topics including crises, psychosocial support, stress, adaptation, loss, grief, community based psychosocial support and first aid, continuous connection, children and peer support.
The course also involved workshops and practical trainings. Such courses aim to train volunteers on bases of giving support to the affected, which is of the most important topics that should be given the priority during and post crisis. This falls within the psychosocial program that attempts to reach as many volunteers as possible.
