Within the framework of volunteers skills development and building capacities , SARC- Disaster Management unit in Damascus branch concluded a training course that involved the principles of disaster management under the new curriculum issued by the international federation of Red cross and Red crescent.
The course started on Monday 03/10/2016 and lasted for 5 days with 29 volunteers (first aid squads, psychological support, humanitarian support, disaster management).
It aims to develop the skill of volunteers and raise their potentials when the response and preparedness to provide assistance to the affected people everywhere.
Lectures course included several topics that discuss the principles of the International Movement of the Cross and the Red Cross and Red Crescent, the concept of disaster preparedness, assess the emergency needs, water and sanitation, hygiene promotion, psychosocial support, livelihoods and logistics.
