Operational Update Quneitra Branch April 2015

Highlights:

In cooperation with International Committee of  Red Cross Water and Sanitation team started equipping three shelters in Al Wafeeden Camp.

First Aid Training course was held with  24 new volunteers brought together in Quneitra Branch.

Mobil Health Unit provided 1650 patients with free prescriptions.

64000 people benefited  of the relief aid items in Quneitra .

Health:

First Aid Services:

SARC’s First aid teams in Quneitra branch transferred 30 cases, 19 of them to the nearby hospital (Abaza hospital) and 11 cases to Damascus hospitals.

First aid team in Al Wafeeden camp transferred 5 cases    to Al- Moassa and Al Qutifa hospitals in Damascus.

Quneitra branch organized a first aid training course, which was participated by 24 new volunteers. The course contained various subjects like: right behavior in emergency cases,  first aid in cases of bleeding and fracture and burns, CPR, how to  transfer injuries.

Mobile health unit:

The mobile health unit provided free prescriptions to 1650 patients including 733 child  in ( Khan Arnebah, Al Koom, Al Sndianah, Jiba, Al Baath City, Nbaa Al Fwar, Ain Aiesha)

SARC’s volunteers in Al Boteha sub-branch provided free medicines to 13 patients  in Al Wafedeen camp in cooperation with the dispensary there.

Relief:

Relief teams tried to cover the needs of the  displaced people at the sheltering centers and the affected residents in (Al Koom, Jiba, Khan Arabeh, Al Baath City, Hadar areas and Al Wafeeden camp).

11393 food parcels, 919 hygiene kit, 3164 children clothes kit and 748 blankets were distributed to 64000 beneficiary.

Psycho-social Support:

The activities of the Psycho-social Support team focused during April on Jiba and Khan Arnebah areas. The activities, which targeted 517 child, included psychological games, group games,  drawing and painting and creative activities.

Psycho-social Support team in Al Boteha sub-branch continued on organizing many activities in Al Wafedeen shelters for about 130 child, where the team supported those children and helped them to cop with their difficult circumstances.

Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion (WASH):

Water and sanitation team and in cooperation with the International Committee of Red Cross started equipping shelters in Al Wafeeden camp with heaters, water tanks and showers.

SARC’s Water and Sanitation team of Quneitra branch continued cooperate with the Water Institution on supplying and sterilizing water in shelters and residential all over the governorate.

they provided more than 29000 person with water in Khan Arneabah, Jiba, Al Koom,  Al Sndianah, Ain Aiesha.

communication team:

Syrian Arab Red Crescent Communication team continued his activities in publishing  the principles of International Red Cross Red Crescent, and the basic principles of International Humanitarian Law.

the team distributed publications about the principles of the International Movement for more than 25 new volunteers.
