Red Cross Red Crescent Movement and SARC condemn attack on SARC aid distribution centre in Hamadaniya, Aleppo

International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and SARC mourn loss of SARC volunteer wounded in 8 February attack in Aleppo

Damascus/Geneva, 10 February 2017 – Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) remain in mourning today following news that a Red Crescent volunteer who was injured in the 8 February attack on a SARC distribution centre in Hamadaniya, Aleppo, has passed away.

At least 60 volunteers and staff of Syrian Arab Red Crescent as well as 8 from Palestine Red Crescent Society have been killed in Syria since the beginning of the crisis. Since the beginning of 2017, five Red Crescent workers and volunteers have lost their lives.

The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement renews its everybody to respect and protect humanitarian aid workers. Humanitarian volunteers and staff are #NotATarget
