SARC Homs Disaster Management Committee launched a project for the returning families to Homs Old City. The livelihood team together with representatives from ICRC started the project with introductory sessions which explained the aim of the project, how to apply and the selection criteria. After that, participants handed their application forms, and the livelihood team conducted household assessment visits to all beneficiaries.
After the selection, there was a workshop for the beneficiaries about how to make a business plan for a small project. 10 families have got the productive inputs for their projects which varied from handicrafts and vocational workshops to food vendor.
The joint project between SARC and ICRC targets 100 returning families in the Old City, and aims at empowering the returning people and helping them in decreasing the obstacles they face by improving their livelihood.
