On Tuesday 20th of October, Dr. Motaz Al-Atassi, Head of board of directors and the members, received ICRC delegation. The Delegation was headed by Ms. Marianne Gasser, ICRC Head of Delegation in Syria, Mr. Robert Mardini, ICRC Regional Director for the Middle East and their companions.
Dr. Al-Atassi talked about SARC-Homs’ response to the humanitarian needs and the exerted efforts to reach the most vulnerable people.
The delegation had a field visit to one of disaster management stores, where they saw distributing relief aids to beneficiaries, and to a collective kitchen, which provides meals to displaced and affected families in Homs sheltering centers, supported by ICRC.
At the end of the visit, they had been to Homs old city and checked the services that SARC-Homs branch provides to beneficiaries.
They emphasized the importance of cooperation between SARC & ICRC to ensure the reach of aid assistance to beneficiaries.
