Eng. Khaled Hboubati received Mr. Peter Maurer

Mr. Peter Maurer, President of the ICRC, finished his 5-day visit to Syria on Friday, March 22, 2019.
Mr. Maurer and the accompanying delegation met Eng. Khaled Hboubati, President of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) with the attendance of SARC management. During the meeting, Eng. Khaled Hboubati mentioned the vast humanitarian needs in Syria and the importance of the services provided by SARC to the families affected by the crisis, especially that delivered through joint projects by ICRC and SARC. He clarified that SARC volunteers do their best to respond to the most vulnerable people and support them to regain their lives.
Mr. Maurer noted to the positive and fruitful cooperation between ICRC and SARC, and stressed the need for the joint projects to be continued and the necessity to reach and support all affected people with urgent aid.
In addition, Mr. Maurer paid a visit to Hasakeh governorate and Al-Hol Camp, which is sheltering 74.000 people, and watched closely the difficult situation there.
