To alleviate the humanitarian suffering needs the volunteers to be equipped enough to respond efficiently in disasters and emergencies in order to alleviate the suffering of the vulnerable people.
Therefore, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent develops an annual capacity-building plan, in which all volunteers are engaged in training courses that enrich their experiences and skills.
In Homs, SARC’s branch held a 5-day training course, supported by the German Red Cross, on the principles of Disaster Management.
20 volunteers from Rastan and Talbiseh sub-branches attended the course and learned how to carry out assessments, distributions, rehabilitation and meet the needs of the affected people.
