The Syrian Arab Red Crescent is seeking to recruit a:
CVA DATA MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST
(based in SARC Head Quarter, Damascus, Abu Remmaneh)
Job purpose:
The CVA Data management specialist shares the values of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement and ensures adherence to the seven Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement at all times.
This position will support the CVA team technically in collecting, analyzing, and presenting the collected data on the field, with focusing and tracking the relevant indicators, to support management in the decision-making process.
Job duties and responsibilities
- Coordinate with the reporting officer to provide the reports on time with all data required.
- Checking the quality, and reliability of data within CVA projects officer and providing feedback.
- Coordinate with CVA Technical Specialists to design the relevant tools and survey for CVA activities.
- Analysis of the relevant data and tracking the indicators to help in the decision-making process.
- Support the CVA Technical Specialist in developing or implementing training on Data Management.
- Establish and maintain best practices and standards for data collection and data checks.
- Build and run reports to verify data accuracy and completeness.
- Create document templates to automatically populate commonly used case documents with existing data.
- Conduct research and implementation of software, databases, and other technologies to support the work of CAV team staff.
- Support on the maintenance of the CVA Beneficiaries Database.
- Research and assemble information and data, preparing internal and external communication materials for presentations, speaking points, correspondence, and other written materials.
- Contribute to identifying trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement
- Performing regular data integrity and quality audits.
- Supporting end users with data entry discrepancies and correcting entry errors as they arise.
- Collaborates on the design, implementation, and evaluation of data analysis processes, including determining the metrics and methodologies to be used.
- Work closely with IM Unit to ensure coordination within the NS.
- Support the interfaces of FSP together with other responsible departments and CVA Coordinator
- Support the CVA coordinator for any other duties necessary and overall achievement of the objectives of the CVA.

Qualifications
Position Requirements
- University Degree with preferable in one or more of the following disciplines: sociology, economy, mathematics, and statistics.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar position.
- Proven experience in descriptive and inferential statistics.
- Experience in the design of complex processes for humanitarian organizations.
- Experience in humanitarian program management.

Languages and IT Skills
- Excellent computer knowledge (Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with e-mail programmers (MS Outlook), Internet search engines and responsible virus-free Internet usage. GIS skills are an asset.
- Proficiency in both oral and written English and Arabic.
