Charming spring starts with planting seeds

Far from the bustles of the cities, Amira decided to work in farming on a full-time basis. The 60 years old woman is highly attached to her land in “Ain Al-Baida” village in Lattakia, and she has great experience in farming. 30 years ago, she started her career with the support of the agriculture engineers and specialists. Year after year, she has managed to build her professional experiences in growing vegetables and producing dried and conserved food supplies.

Working hard achieves your dreams

Amira has made a qualitative leap forward in farming when she received an agricultural grant from the Syrian Arab Red Crescent. The grant, supported by the ICRC, consisted of seeds, fertilizers and agricultural tools.

The mother of four children has worked hand in hand with her husband in farming, and they managed to regain their food security and sell the excess produce. Her farming work hours extend from the early morning till noon, then she goes back home to look after her household and family.
