Due to the increasing displacement movement which has been recently witnessed in Al-Yarmouk Camp’sneighboring areas of Yalda, Babbila, and Beit Sahem, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent –Damascus Branch managed to deliver a relief aid convoy.
The relief aid convoy was delivered to the mentioned areas on two shipments. The first shipment was delivered on April 03rd 2015, while the second was delivered on April 8th 2015 and was loaded with 9500 food parcels, that donated by the ICRC, 3000 conserved food parcels donated by the WFP and SARC. The convoy was accompanied also with two mobile clinics. The relief aid was distributed to 9500 already residing families and to the 2600 families who have been displaced recently from Al-Yarmouk Camp.
It is worth mentioning that the Disaster Management Unit of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent works in constant coordination with the local committees that represent all concerned parties in order to support all affected families due to the current prevailing crisis.
