The Surge Information Management Support (SIMS) of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies has organized and supported “Strengthening Analytical Thinking (SAT)” Training, which is held worldwide for the 2nd time and for the 1st time in the Middle East. The training was hosted by the IFRC Syria Country Office and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) in Damascus, Syria from 16 – 22 January 2019.
This training targeted almost 40 participants coming from all 14 branches of SARC Information Management Department, the newly created MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning) Unit, and from the Disaster Management and Operations Department.
The main learning objectives of this training were to introduce and equip Information analysts with the basic processes, skills and knowledge required to answer strategic questions and make sense of available information in humanitarian emergencies.
