Physical and psychosocial rehabilitation program that is carried out by prosthetics team in collaboration with SARC –Aleppo Counseling Center for Psychosocial Support receives the war wounded and their families in the center. The war wounded do exercises before fitting the artificial limb. The exercises they do aim to strengthen their muscles maintain balance and improve body posture. They also do exercises after fitting the limb such as carrying body weight, balance, walking and climbing stairs up and down. The wounded also participate with their families in various activities according to their age (drawing and coloring for children, chess and backgammon for men, and hand making accessories for women). Such activities help reintegrate them in the community and promote their ability to adapt.
It is mention worthy those artificial limbs are fitted at ICRC Prosthetic Center in Aleppo.
