Along the way to the makeshift camp, Um Foaad has a lot to tell about her displacement from Dara’a governorate to Swaida five years ago. As soon as we arrived in her tent, she started distributing the winter clothes, provided by SARC, to her grandchildren without forgetting to dedicate some for orphans. She believes that providing assistance is a humanitarian duty and kind of sharing-joy during hard times. Um Foa’ad and many other families currently live in a camp in Salkhad town, where the SARC volunteers visit them and provide relief materials supported by ICRC and UNHCR.
The splint was fixed to treat Hala’s hand, but the heart’s sorrows will be healed by “Your Smile is our Goal” activity launched by the Syrian Arab Red Crescent sub- branch in Salkhad area in Al- Saida city. Hala joined the affected and displaced families on the Eid celebration as she knows that joy is always waiting for everybody and has much of delights in Eid days. The little girl is ready to enjoy the Eid as she got new clothes by the local community and SARC sub-branch, which reached 935 people with new clothes.
To ward off the cold winter and to alleviate Kids sufferings, Volunteers of SARC Al Kiswah Sub Branch distributed winter clothes to 3893 kids in Al Adaliah area and the areas around it, the distribution continued for a week from Sunday 6/12/2015 to Saturday 12/12/2015. Clothes basket included (Coat – sleep clothes – Socks – Hat), and provided by ICRC.
The Disaster Management Unit (DMU) of SARC’ Damascus branch and in cooperation with international Medical Corps distributed clothes, sanitary towel and diapers for about 7400 person in 24 shelters inside Damascus and Rural Damascus.
Syrian Arab Red Crescent – Aleppo branch’s teams keep on exerting efforts to affected people all over Aleppo city. Within this framework, psycho-social support mobile teams, which are supported by UNICEF and Danish Refugee Counsel, crossed Bustan AlQasr – AlMasharqa Humanitarian Crossing Point to reach the eastern part of Aleppo city and hold a psycho-social support activity for children at Sakhr Hallak School in AlZebdiya.
