Livelihood Program launched its First Project in Rural Damascus


The Syrian Arab Red Crescent- HQ and in cooperation with SARC Rural Damascus branch, Ministry of Social Affairs and the International Federation of the Red Cross Red Crescent (IFRC) Societies launched the first livelihood project in Rural Damascus area. The project “Vocational Training on Handmade Carpets Industry” is to be set up in Al-Qoutaifa and Mouadamiet Al-Qalamoun in Rural Damascus. SARC Evacuated more than 500 Persons from Madyad and Zabadani & Foa’a and Kiffrya


Syrian Arab Red Crescent(SARC) evacuated 80 humanitarian cases along with their families (total 516) from four areas: Madaya and Zabadani in Rural Damascus and from Foa’a and Kiffrya in Rural Idleb. The evacuated persons from Rural Damascus were transported to Damascus and Idleb city, while those from Rural Idleb were transported to Lattakia city. It is worth mentioning that this mission was carried out via coordination of SARC HQ  and SARC’s branches (Damascus, Rural Damascus, Quneitra, Al-Swaida,Daraa ,Homs, Hama, Tartous, Lattakia and Idleb).


SARC teams came under Fire in Madaya area


On April 20, 2016, SARC’s teams came under fire while they were carrying out their duty in evacuating humanitarian cases from Madaya and Al-Zabadani in Rural Damascus. However, SARC team continued on its mission and was able to evacuate the cases and deliver them to  Damascus and Idleb city. It is worth to mention that one of SARC’s cars was shot though the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) emblem is shown clearly on it.
