A Word from the SARC President Dr. Abdul Rahman Attar on the International Volunteer Day

On the occasion of the international volunteer day, let me extend my greetings and appreciation to all the volunteers around the world whose number has exceeded 100 million volunteers, I would like to thank in particular the Syrian Arab Red crescent’s volunteers who forget their names to use numbers they are given to indicate their identities, to face danger bravely, embrace death, break the wall of fear, endanger their lives to rescue wounded people for the sake of the humanitarian work which they believe deeply in, while respecting the fundamental principles of the international movement(humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, unity, universality and voluntary services.)

In my name and on behalf of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent’s volunteers and employees I wish to say; divine mercy on the souls of our homeland’s martyrs and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent’s 49 martyrs who offered their pure souls in order to do their humanitarian duty in the current crisis.

We will never forget you nor your sacrifices.

Dr. Abdul-Rahman Attar

Syrian Arab Red Crescent President
