On 29 January a Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) car was involved in an accident in Sweida, southern Syria, due to snow and ice on the road. With sadness we confirm that two volunteers, Mazen Waleed Akl and Tareq Hisham Radwan lost their lives. Some of their fellow volunteers were injured.
The SARC team were en route to an emergency response to provide first aid at a road accident that occurred in the early hours of the morning, due to the treacherous weather conditions.
SARC and IFRC extend their condolences to their families, friends and the fellow volunteers of Sweida branch at this sad time.
