The Syrian Arab Red Crescent in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross organized a training course in Electricity Supplies specialized for water supplies on Oct 13, 14, 15 2014.
The mentioned workshop brought together SARC water engineers who are in need to acknowledge basics in electricity networks. In fact, the mentioned workshop is highly important because of the frequent electrical networks breakdown that result in water pumping stations breakdown, the need to install electrical generators and the dire need to install pumps and generators in out of utilities areas that witness overpopulation due to displacement movement.
“This workshop is the first of its kind in the organization because it mainly addressed the electrical breakdown of water stations”, said Firas Farras, water project coordinator at SARC.
The mentioned workshop will enable SARC water engineers to define and evaluate the electrical problems, and allow them to estimate water works necessities in the governorates.
