The Syrian Arab Red Crescent is seeking to recruit a:
SRC Project Coordinator (based in SARC Head Quarter, Damascus, Abu Remmaneh)
Purpose of the Job
The project coordinator will contribute to the efficient, effective, and sustainable implementation of the ongoing and future project activities, by required quality standards, with the principal aim of addressing beneficiary needs.
The main purpose of the project coordinator is to work with the SRC Country Team to ensure follow-up on the active projects supported by SRC and to support the development of future projects. This is done through coordinating with the relevant SARC departments on timely implementation, monitoring and reporting, and supporting the administrative, financial, and logistical procedures of the SRC delegation.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Project Support
- Support the SRC Country Team in ensuring that the projects are being implemented in line with signed project agreements, proposals, budgets, logframes, and implementation plans, and according to SRC, SARC and donor policies and guidelines.
- Coordinate and organize regular project meetings with the respective SARC departments to monitor the progress of project activities and expenditures, and accurate and timely reporting.
- Undertake regular support and monitoring visits to project sites and participate in project events when required.
- Support in the translation of project documents as well as interpretation during meetings and field visits.
- Provide support to the SARC staff and volunteers where needed to ensure quality implementation and monitoring of SRC-supported projects.
- Ensure best practices and lessons learned are documented.
- Support SRC Country Team in the development of new projects and actions, through field assessments, meetings, proposal writing, etc.
- Regularly update SRC Country Representative on project progress, challenges and successes.
Administrative, Financial, Procurement and Logistical Support
- Support the SRC Delegates in monitoring the financial implementation of the various projects in coordination with SARC finance and budgeting departments, including ensuring cash/fund requests and financial reports are submitted within deadlines.
- Coordinate with the SRC Country Team and SARC Logistics department regarding logistics and procurement processes needed for the effective implementation of SRC supported projects.
- Support in the preparation and execution of meetings/workshops for the SRC supported projects with SARC and other RCRC partners, including writing the minutes of meetings.
- Support the administrative processes needed to ensure travel into and within Syria for SRC personnel, including support for visas, residencies, hotel booking and vehicle movements.
- Ensure the archiving and maintenance of an up-to-date library of project documents, SRC in-country assets, donation certificates, project case studies, articles, videos, and photographs, as per SRC guidelines.
Required skills and experience
- University degree or equivalent, preferably in the field of Social Sciences.
- At least two years of humanitarian project management experience.
- Experience with project cycle management (proposal writing, logframe, indicator tracking, project financial management, reporting, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic
- Good command of Microsoft Office tools (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
- Demonstrated ability and effectiveness in dealing with internal and external actors at different levels.
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for tasks assigned, in an accountable and responsible manner.
- Respect for deadlines and an ability to organise different tasks and responsibilities efficiently.
- A motivated and persevering personality, with a good spirit of cooperation.
- Willingness and aptitude for humanitarian field work, with availability to travel at short notice to branches and governorates across Syria, including overnight stays when required.
- Knowledge of the International Red Cross Red Crescent Movement and its fundamental principles
Working base: Damascus, with regular travel throughout Syria.
