Within their endeavors to complete the water project, SARC’s Water & Sanitation Teams and in cooperation with ICRC, carried out various tasks all over the Syrian governorates in Nov, 2014.
The team managed to deliver calibration items, sterilization pills and chlorine pumps in Damascus countryside (Al-Mouadamieh, Barzeh), Al-Swayda, Qounaytera, Homs (Houla, Talbiseh, Al-Rastan), Raqqa and Deir Ezzor.
Regarding water distribution, the team installed a lot of Oxfam tanks, and maintained some already installed ones. They distributed drinkable water on daily bases, and supported Quneitera Water Establishment by securing the drinkable water to all sheltering centers. However, in Al-Hassakeh, the team delivered 3667 cubic meter of water with beneficiaries exceeding 18786 people. The team kept on his activities in insecticides delivery in the area.
In Deir Ezzor and Aleppo, the team secured items that improve the water grid in Al-Hamadanieh area, and put coordination for a maintenance operation in Aleppo old city. The team lend a hand also to the Relief Team to distribute 208 tone of rodent control items in Aleppo’s east and west areas. In Deir Ezzor, the team maintained the water grid and replaced water pipelines in some dangerous areas.
Regarding Al-Mayadeen area, SARC’s Water Team set up coordination and cooperation with the Water Institute to be supported with technical, mechanical and electrical facilities.
