The Syrian Arab Red Crescent volunteers in Hassakeh carried out an emergency response in Al-Meridian neighborhood for the population affected by Al-Khabour River floods, which resulted from the heavy rainfall two days ago and caused material damages and loss in livestock. The relief team conducted the needed assessment and registration, while other teams distributed 130 food parcels provided by the ICRC. SARC’s first aid squads participated also in the response.
It is worth mentioning that Al-Meridian neighborhood is vulnerable to flooding because the houses are so close to the river
