The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) received humanitarian medical aid provided by the Czech Red Cross in cooperation with the Czech Government. These aid, which include medical items and equipment were delivered by air and reached Damascus International Airport on 18/7/2017.
Mr. Osama Bitar, Director General of SARC, and Ms. Eva Fillipi, Czech Ambassador in Syria welcomed Dr. Josef Konecny, the Secretary General of the Czech Red Cross who arrived in accompany with the plane. On behalf of SARC, Mr. Bitar expressed his deep gratitude to the Czech Republic and people; and to the Czech Red Cross for the huge and constant cooperation in field of healthcare.
Dr. Konecny appreciated the exerted efforts by SARC in humanitarian field and pointed out that more projects are under process to help the Syrian people through SARC “More than six years ago, Czech Red Cross started to supporting SARC, who have played an important and active role in humanitarian field” He said.
It is worth to mention that the arrived humanitarian aid batch is the fifth one provided by Czech Red Cross, and it will be distributed to the due beneficiaries.
