preparedness and responded to help the most affected people in Al Qusair, Hasya, and Deir Ba’alba. Families had nothing to prevent themselves from the cold weather and snow. The team distributed extra blankets, tarpaulins, and sleeping mats, in addition to 10 thousand winter clothes cartoons and 4600 blankets for children from UNICEF in Hasya and Deir Baalba.
The storm also affected the city, volunteers launched “let’s Help” initiative to collect used clothes and then distribute them to affected families. The idea was published on social media and people were motivated to participate. 1000 pieces of clothes and 600 pairs of socks were collected on the first day. Volunteers divided into groups and began visiting houses and distributing clothes, other volunteers sorted the collected clothes.
