Raising Awareness Sessions on Children’s Health in Al-Safira Schools

February 14, 2016
in Aleppo
1 min read

Influenza has been lately one of the most spreading diseases due to the tough cold weather and lack of heating tools. In this context, ‪SARC – Aleppo‬’s health promotion team continues holding the needed awareness sessions to eliminate the disease. Last week, the team targeted eastern Aleppo countryside with these sessions by holding them in Al-Safira’s elementary schools (Al-Safira, Al-Qadisiya and Tariq Bin Ziyad schools). Awareness activities were held for children with an aim to show the correct ways for hand washing as it is an effective way for preventing infection. This was followed by distributing soap bars to the participated children who reached to 2162 children.
Health promotion team has previously held a workshop to guide Al-Safira sub-branch’s volunteers to the proper ways of working with children. Health promotion activities are conducted in cooperation with UNICEF
