Cholera is an acute diarrhoeal infection caused by ingesting food or water contaminated with the bacterium Vibrio cholera. The infection is often mild, but can sometimes be severe and life-threatening if not treated. Once the infection was detected in the country, the #SyrianArabRedCrescent volunteers rushed to all areas and villages to raise awareness and help curb the spread of the disease.
