Due to the current crisis and its negative impacts on people in Syria, Syrian Arab Red Crescent has gone beyond the usual services provided in health field, and launched psychological health care service through specialized clinics.
These clinics are run by qualified medical cadre, who provides medical diagnosis, behavioral treatments and free medicines. The treatment courses ranged between 6 months and 3 years depending on the cases.
Dr. Mazen Khalil, psychiatrist specialist and technical supervisor of the psychological health clinics, stressed on the importance of the beneficiaries’ trust in the psychological treatment. He said that it is a basic step in the recovery process, and noted that most received cases suffer behavioral disorders, which resulted from the current circumstances and the radical changes occurred abruptly to people’s life.
