The Syrian Arab Red Crescent organization received mobile medical cell, which consists of two units equipped with gynecology clinic, internal clinic, a laboratory, two ambulances and a radiography room, provided by the Red Cross Society of China (RCSC) on Thursday, August 16, 2018. The unit was received during an event attended by Engineer Khaled Hboubati, President of SARC, Sun Shuopeng, Vice President and Secretary General of the RCSC, Mr. Ma Shui Liang, the Political Advisor at the Chinese Embassy in Damascus and Mr. Hashem, IFRC regional manager in MENA zone.
In his speech, Mr. Hboubati, thanked the RCSC for this initiative of providing a mobile medical unit that considered the first of its kind within the SARC’s medical facilities.
In turn, Mr. Sun Shuopeng confirmed on the RCSC support to the Syrian people and SARC. He said “Distances can’t separate real friends. The multi-tasking hospital has traveled a long way until it arrived in Damascus, and we hope that this hospital will reach every place that needs its services in Syria.”
He commended the resilience of the Syrian people and their capability to overcome the crisis, and confirmed that SARC exerts its best efforts to alleviate the suffering of the most vulnerable people. “I believe that SARC has huge experience that could be used by RCSC.” He said.
On his behalf, the political adviser noted that his country will continue to support Syria.
The event included also a training for SARC’s medical staff on the use of the provided equipment and plant.
It is worth mentioning that the two-day visit of the Chinese delegation had on its agenda a meeting with Engineer Khaled Hboubati where ways of collaboration were discussed and a field visit to SARC’s center for prostheses in Al-Zahera area.
