Five-year-old Mira, born with non-spastic cerebral palsy, faced a world confined to her bed. Paralyzed in all limbs and unable to perform the simplest tasks, she relied entirely on her mother’s care. However, hope emerged with the support of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent.
Mira’s muscles gradually strengthened through dedicated home physical therapy sessions in Daraa. With the unwavering support of volunteers, she achieved the incredible milestone of standing on her own two feet. Today, she’s taking her first, determined steps toward independence.
Mira’s mother watches with joy as her daughter blossoms. The four-month therapy program, which includes nursing care and mobility aids, is part of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent’s comprehensive support for the injured and disabled. With the backing of the IFRC, this vital work empowers individuals like Mira to become active members of their communities.
