As a result of 60% erosion of the water networks, SARC-Homs Water and Sanitation team carried a response in which they maintained the damaged parts of the water systems, implemented two water supply projects in Rabah and Irqaya villages.
It is stated that the Rabah region project included the installation of polyethylene pipes (125 diameters) from Alhamam spring to the water reservoir (1432 m length) and this line intersects with 90 diameters water line coming from Alzuhour spring. The project also involved the performance of other related works that aim to increase the water amount which comes from the water source. While the Irqaya region project included the replacement of the old water line which had a waste of water reached 60%. The project also involved the installation of new water line from the well to the high reservoir in the village with 125 mm diameter polyethylene pipes and 140 m length.
It is worth mentioning that these projects which benefited 4600 people were implemented in cooperation between ICRC and the State Water Corporation in Homs.
