Aleppo branch of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent leads many humanitarian initiatives via its sub-branches and points. In this context, SARC sub-branch in Al-Safira started an intervention in al-Janayen neighborhood that lives under difficult circumstances.
The intervention involved delivering humanitarian aids, which included food items and different medications, as well as a visit by a team of various specialties from the medical, relief, psychosocial support and hygiene promotion departments to assess the needs of people in the mentioned neighborhood in order to obtain the best response.
During this visit, the medical team examined 80 patients, mostly children, and dispensed the needed medications on. The relief team assessed the needs of people there and distributed aids on 90 families. Simultaneously, the hygiene promotion team provided beneficiaries with instruction while distributing chlorine tablets for water purification on them along with raising awareness on epidemics caused by accumulation of waste.
