In the framework of SARC – Aleppo’s response plan and due to the spread of diarrhea causing disease, health promotion team started intervening in Al-Safira area. The team launched awareness raising sessions for mothers on diarrhea’s reasons, symptoms, means of transmission, dehydration and prevention as well as preparing oral rehydration salts’ sachets.
Health promotion team also distributed chlorine tablets for water purification, soap bars and ORS sachets. 156 women attended those sessions, while the total number of persons benefitted from distributed material reached 948.
The team has previously intervened in Al-Safira to qualify volunteers of the sub-branch there before holding those sessions.
It is worth to mention that health promotion program is in cooperation with UNICEF.
