The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity, availability, and security of SARC databases. The DBA provides technical expertise in the design, implementation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Database Management Systems (DBMS) supporting SARC applications, including Health, Community Services, Protection, and other business applications, as well as the ERP system. Additional responsibilities include optimization, backup and recovery, troubleshooting, reporting, data import and export, and ensuring the availability and reliability of database services. The DBA also provides technical support, guidance, and training to end users and relevant technical teams on database-related systems and processes. Job duties and responsibilities
· Designs, develops, and documents database architecture and related technical specifications. · Diagnoses and assesses software malfunctions and determines appropriate actions to maintain the availability and continuity of computer, network, and database operations.
· Designs and develops database schemas, tables, stored procedures, functions, views, roles, and access permissions.
· Develops, tests, and executes SQL scripts and other database management commands. Implements and maintains database security, access controls, and encryption mechanisms.
· Develops and maintains database utilities and automated reporting solutions. Analyzes and manages database capacity and performance requirements to ensure optimal system performance.
· Monitors database systems and related platforms to ensure availability, reliability, and optimal performance.
· Oversees and manages database backup, clustering, mirroring, replication, and failover mechanisms, where applicable.
· Performs daily, weekly, and monthly database maintenance and administration activities for Microsoft SQL Server databases supporting SARC information systems, ensuring efficient and reliable system operations.
· Performs database backup and restoration operations and recovers databases in the event of data corruption or system failure.
· Develops, manages, maintains, and regularly tests database and information system backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity and data availability.
· Develops and maintains standards, procedures, and policies for data entry and data management, and ensures compliance with established requirements and organizational policies.

Education and Training Required Preferred · University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Engineering or any related field. X · Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration certification is preferred X Experience Required Preferred · Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or later, including database implementation, backup and restore, replication, performance monitoring, and user/account management. X · Minimum 2 years of experience administering advanced Microsoft SQL Server features, including High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions such as Always On Availability Groups and Failover Clustering, as well as, replication, and related security features. X Knowledge and Skills Required Preferred Languages and IT Skills Required Preferred · Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications with an emphasis on database and spreadsheet applications. X · Ability to perform a variety of professional tasks including, but not limited to, technology services representative on various committees or task forces.
