    Job purpose

    The RFL & MotD Project Coordinator will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful implementation of the Restoring Family Links (RFL) and the Management of the Dead (MotD) programs at the headquarters level. This position necessitates close collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), other national societies (NSs), relevant departments, authorities, and branch coordinators. The coordinator will be responsible for data collection, ensuring effective communication, and facilitating all activities related to these programs.

     

    Job duties and responsibilities

    • Project Management

    Ø  Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets for RFL and MotD programs.

    Ø  Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure timely completion.

    Ø  Coordinate with stakeholders, including the ICRC, other NS, and relevant authorities, to align project activities and resources.

    Ø  Timely and accurate reporting of activities and program implementation, including to external partners and in line with required and agreed procedures.

     

    • Program Coordination

    Ø  Oversee the day-to-day operations of the RFL and MotD programs.

    Ø  Facilitate communication and collaboration between headquarters and branches.

    Ø  Ensure adherence to program guidelines, SOPs, etc.

    Ø  Monitor and evaluate program performance, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations.

    Ø  Fosters clear and relevant understanding of RFL and forensics within the SARC.

     

    • Data Management

    Ø  Develop and implement data collection systems and procedures.

    Ø  Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality.

    Ø  Analyse data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities.

    Ø  Prepare regular reports on program activities, outcomes, and impact.

     

    • Resource Management

    Ø  Manage project budgets and allocate resources effectively.

    Ø  Identify and secure necessary funding and resources.

    Ø  Monitor resource utilization and ensure efficient use of funds.

    Ø  Monitors and manages forensic items stocks ensure its availability for operational use.

     

    • Human Resources

    Ø  Recruit, train, and supervise project staff.

    Ø  Provide mentorship and support to team members.

    Ø  Ensure staff development and capacity building.

     

    • External Relations

    Ø  Represent the organization at relevant meetings, conferences, and events.

    Ø  Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including donors, government officials, and NGOs.

    Ø  Advocate for the needs of affected populations and raise awareness of the RFL and MotD programs.

     

    • Crisis Response

    Ø  Develop and implement emergency response and response plans for RFL and MotD activities during crises.

    Ø  Coordinate with relevant agencies and organizations to provide timely assistance to affected populations.

    Ø  Ensure the safety and well-being of project staff and beneficiaries during emergencies.

     

    • Training and Capacity Building

    Ø  Develop and deliver training programs on RFL and MotD for staff and volunteers.

    Ø  Develop training materials, including manuals, presentations, and case studies.

     

    • Community Engagement

    Ø  Facilitate community engagement activities to raise awareness of RFL and MotD services.

    Ø  Collaborate with community leaders and organizations to promote program participation.

    Ø  Coordinate with relevant SARC departments to provide psychosocial support to affected communities.

     

     

    Duties applicable to all staff

     

    1. Practical project management experience in the field of Protection activities.
    2. Demonstrable experience of project financial management and reporting;
    3. In-depth understanding of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, supported with direct personal experience.

    Position Requirements

    Education and Training   Required Preferred
    • University Degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Medical fields, Law or a related field is required.

    • A minimum of 3 years of experience in administrative support, including experience in a humanitarian or development context. Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.

    • Knowledge of human resources, financial management, and procurement.

    • Strong organizational and planning skills.
    X  
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    X  
    • Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting.

    • Understanding of psychological impact of conflicts/disasters on beneficiaries, staff and volunteers.

    • Ability to work effectively in a complex and challenging environment.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects and deadlines.

    • Good organisational skills.

    • Good time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.

    • Commitment to the principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders at all levels.

    Languages and IT Skills    
    • Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.
