Livelihood is the first to be destroyed by crisis

Crisis and armed conflicts are considered the most significant factor that affects livelihoods and cost the affected communities huge economic losses through displacement and reduced mobility and access to natural resources.

Seeking to deliver a dignified life for the affected families, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent works according to an elaborated plan taking into its consideration the individuals’ experiences and geographical locations across Syria. The first step was to qualify professional staff equipped with the tools needed in livelihood programing.

Livelihood Programing

To reach the highest efficiency in the implementation of the livelihood projects, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent conducted two training workshops titled “Livelihood Programing” targeting 38 volunteers from all SARC branches, as well as employees from the HQ.

The workshops included topics related to the livelihood concepts, the impact of the crisis on the livelihood, interventions, evaluation, objectives and indicators, and monitoring.

New opportunity to regain normal life

Livelihood programs are designed to support affected families and poor communities, with objective to enhance their self-sufficiency through different grants (agricultural, livestock, vocational training, small enterprises) that provided in accordance with their work experiences and skills,  and contribute to ensure constant income and help them regain their normal life.
