The blankets distributed to the people in Al-Tadreeb Al-Jaameh shelter in Dumair , Rural Damascus were more than warm coverings as Um Hammad managed to turn it into winter clothes using a needle and thread and her talent in sewing. In the shelter, Um Hammad used the blankets provided by SARC to make a dress for a child and a cloak for an old man there in order to feel warm during the harsh cold winter with the least affordable costs.
Um Hammad is one example of hundreds of Syrian women who have overcome and coped with life amid difficult circumstances.
