Health Enhancement team of Water & Sanitation Project in SARC started an awareness campaign in Hassakeh governorate in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross and Hassakeh Health Directorate. Under its motto of combating leishmaniasis, the campaign targeted more than 250 villages, communities and neighborhoods with beneficiaries total to 40.000 families that is about 200.000 people.
The campaign included awareness session for women on the leishmaniasis disease and ways to avoid it, as well as awareness sessions for children on personal hygiene behaviors.
Also the team distributed mosquito nets and educational brochures about the mentioned disease
It is worth to mention that such missions are followed up by SARC headquarter in Damascus through weekly corresponding reports.
